Frequently Asked Questions

Do all family members need to attend every session?

Not necessarily. We can work with the whole family, or with subsets of the family (parents only, parent and child, siblings, etc.) depending on what's most helpful for your situation. We'll discuss what arrangement would work best.

What if one family member is resistant to coming?

It's common for family members to have different levels of readiness. We can work with those who are willing to attend, and often this creates positive change that draws in other family members. We can discuss strategies for addressing reluctance.

How long does family counseling typically take?

The length varies depending on your family's needs and goals. Some families benefit from short-term focused work, while others engage in longer-term counseling. We'll discuss this in your first session and revisit progress regularly.
